The Hamptons’ Top 10 Sales in 2011
Say what you will about 2011, it was a pretty stellar year for luxury sales. The $88 million sale of Citi Exec Sandy Weill’s penthouse set a record for Manhattan, and the top 10 sales in the Hamptons were all upwards of $20 million. One of them all the way upwards to $36 million. Although LLCs have been used to protect the “innocent,” we can tell you that the top sale was Florida politician Jeffrey Greene’s purchase of Anderson Estate, one of the largest remaining properties on the East End, from Robert Rust. We have no idea who that guy is, but apparently he inherited it from his aunt in 2003. Not bad, Bob.
