Design Tip: Paint the Ceilings, Not the Walls

Are you tempted to liven up your living space, but just can’t bring yourself to part with those safe, clean, white walls? Well guess what–you can get a striking effect with a lot less work by simply painting your ceiling. Above you can see how the subtlest gray really polishes off the room, or a slate blue pulls out the artwork from an otherwise austere hallway.

Feeling a little more brave? Bright colors, patterns and murals can turn the ceiling into a piece of art in and of itself.
