London Mansion Slashes Price to $123 Million

By Jordan • June 20th, 2011

To put things in perspective, New York’s most expensive sale this year–Vanderbilt Mansion at 16 E. 69th Street–went for $48 million. Originally listed six years ago for nearly triple that at $143 million, Updown Court sits on 58 acres just outside of London. But Great Britain’s elite are apparently feeling the pressures of the economy just like everyone else, because they were compelled to drop the price by $20 million. The new price tag of $123 million will buy you:

  • 103 rooms
  • 5 swimming pools
  • a bowling alley
  • a 50-seat theater
  • an 8-limo garage (do the limos come with it for $123 mil?)
  • and… a panic room. You’ll need that for when the mortgage bill comes.
