Hal Prince’s 5th Ave. Home Goes for $23 Million
The 5th Avenue duplex belonging to octogenarian Broadway producer and director Hal Prince finally sold for $23 million after four price cuts. Adding to the difficulty of selling a multi-million home in this market in the first place was the challenge of a notoriously hard-nosed co-op board with a reputation of being partial to billionaires.
It might not be surprising to hear that the former home of a Broadway musical producer isn’t exactly… understated.
The 11-room apartment at 834 5th Avenue at 64th Street occupies the 13th & 14th floors, with views of Central Park and the zoo. No word yet as to whether the new owner’s furniture goes with the existing decor, of if they’ll choose to remodel.
