Former TriBeCa Shoe Store-Turned-Mansion Hits The Market for $45 Million

By Jordan • May 5th, 2011

Even New York’s elite are going to blink before throwing down $45 million, but this former shoe store in TriBeCa is a real estate Disneyland, complete with a basement basketball court (mind the mid-court cast-iron columns), multiple rental apartments and a rooftop deck.

Within the 23,000 square foot building listed by Elliman, there is a ground floor commercial/retail space; second level full-floor rental apartment that once commanded $19,500/month; two third-floor rental units; and a 10,000 square foot triplex that occupies the top three floors. Those who aren’t interested in being slumlords can buy just the triplex for a mere $30 million.

Architect Mario Ravelli began his ueber renovation to the building located at 144 Duane Street in 2001, and went so far as to lift the roof to create a sixth floor.
