Ukrainian Billionaire Buys Hyde Park Penthouse for $222 Mil

What’s more lavish than spending $222 million on an apartment? Adding $98 million in renovations before you even move in. To be fair, the $222 million price tag was for two apartments at the luxury One Hyde Park building in London. Ukraine billionaire Rinat Akhmetov, who ranks 39th on the Forbes list of billionaires, chose to adjoin two units at the top of the building to create a three-story penthouse, at a cost of a little less than a third of the price of the two apartments.

Akmhmetov, reportedly worth more than $16.5 billion, can probably spare the change. This expenditure sets him back less than 2%.  Source: FurnitureFashion
