A-Rod To Add a New Face to The Rushmore
The Yankees third baseman has reportedly struck a deal for between $5.5 and $6 million to buy a 4-bedroom that occupies the 35th floor of The Rushmore, a double glass tower development that overlooks Central Park, the Hudson, and a baseball field exclusive to Riverside South residents.
A-Rod is the youngest player to ever hit 500 home runs (beating Jimmie Foxx) AND the youngest player ever to hit 600 home runs (beating Babe Ruth), but this deal doesn’t seem to be one of those. Although the price range is on the low side for what many celebrities pay for their New York pads, and represents just 2% of A-Rod’s 10-year, $275 million contract, StreetEasy lists other 4 bedrooms in the building between $3.5 and $4.5 million.
Hey, we’re just relieved you’ve concluded your apartment hunt so you can focus on those two magic words. Play Ball!
