Tour Homes of Eli Manning, Brett Favre and More for Thanksgiving

By Jordan H • November 29th, 2010

This Thanksgiving, people all across the country will gather to eat Turkey, give thanks and spend time with their families. And maybe watch some football. But where will the stars of those football teams go after the game to gather with their families?

For some stars, it’s back to a trophy home that says as much about them- maybe more- than their play on the field. So here’s an inside look at a few of the biggest, best, and most expensive from some of the biggest stars.

Eli Manning

New York’s own Eli Manning ran wide of Manhattan proper and opted for a 3,000-square-foot condo across the Hudson River in Hoboken, N.J. It seems he’s more interested in reviewing game footage than taking a time-out around the City between games. He’s got motorized shades, an A/V set up that would make John Madden jealous, and hidden bar. All remote-controlled, of course. Manning’s throwing for the end zone on electronics.

Tom Brady

Tom Brady of the Patrioits went long with his dreams to the West Coast, married supermodel Gisele Bündchen, handing off $20M for a California mansion that would make the Founding Fathers proud. At close to 22,000 square feet, they stand-out feature is a gym that’s larger than the average American home. This is a couple that values staying in shape.

Chad Ochocinco

You’ve heard of him- if not for his football prowess, then maybe for his last name: Cincinnati Bengals wide-reciever Chad Ochocinco was born Chad Javon Johnson and legally changed his last name to the number 85 (“ocho” plus “cinco”)… Yes, it’s his jersey number. And he’s no stranger to attention stunts: In 2007, he raced a thoroughbred as part of a charity event- and he WON. Now, he’s got a VH1 Reality Show called Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch. The show is filmed at this $12 million mansion in Beverly Hills. (And ye, the show is a competition between 85 women for Mr. Ochocinco’s hand.

Carson Palmer

Carson Palmer shares a team with Ochocinco, but not a taste for extravagance. In fact, he recently sold his four-bedroom, four-bathroom Laguna Beach home for $2.37 million- back to Cincinnati?

Brett Favre

Finally, this 1994 classic has NFL icon Brett Favre giving an Idaho reporter a tour of his Green Bay home. Favre goes into the intricacies of how he decorated (his quarterback coach’s wife recommended things and he trusts her) and even comes to a room he claims to have never been in before. His friends make cameos, and the tour closes with a little pool-playing banter in the basement.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone…
