The Most Expensive and Most Affordable Places to Live
The Most Expensive and Most Affordable Places to Live:
The Wall Street Journal took a look at the most expensive and most affordable places to live in the country.
Most expensive? Newport Beach, California at over $1.83 million.
That’s 27x the average at the other end of the spectrum in Detroit, the city that got the unenviable honors as the least expensive (aka “most affordable”) place to live with an average listing price of $68,007.00.
Here are the other 9 to round out the list:
Overall, there were 10 markets where the average listing price was over $1million, and 85 markets where the average was below $200,000. And to a point Detroit and Newport Beach were emblematic of their states: California had 6 of the 10 most expensive markets and Michigan 3 of the “most affordable”.
